Christine DuBois
I can't remember a time when animals were not part of my life. I started training 35 years ago with the family dog then went on to train the neighbors chows. I did take a break to get married and have 4 children. I was head trainer for the Manitowoc County Kennel Club for over 20 years and Obedience Director for over 4 years. I am currently a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator for the AKC. I have a private home training and behavior consults business for the last 6 years with referrals from a local Manitowoc vet .
I continue my education by going to seminars on dog aggression, training, dogs body language, behavior and learning theory with some of the top people in their fields. I watch as many DVD's and read as many books as I can.
I love to figure out how to change a dog's behavior with the least amount of stress for the dog and have a fun time doing it
I now share my home with three dogs, Sadie, a 6 yo Jack Russell, Bear, a 15yr Australian Shepherd and Wylie, a 13 yr. PitX.
Dogs have always been a part of my life, from my Dad's hunting Beagles,
to my current pack of six (4 Australian Shepherds, a Border Collie, and
a Golden/Lab mix). One of my great joys is training dogs, and I have
taken several of my dogs into competitive obedience with some success.
I am a member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), an
organization that promotes positive training as a means to foster a better relationship between dog and owner, while training the dog to be a well-mannered member of the family. Our goal as teachers is to make training your dog a positive, fun experience for both you and your dog.
